Why I Love Interns

shorse

So it’s no secret that I spend a decent amount of time in various doctor’s offices. One of my absolute favorite things that’s come out of this whole ordeal with my health is that I have become accustomed to not only doctors but their interns as well. Because I have so many atypical symptoms and various oddities going on I am usually “the interesting case” that they observe. Here’s the thing about the interns that I’ve met, they are by and large, some of the most anxious and up tight people I’ve ever met. When I had my gallbladder removed I remember making jokes while they were getting me on the table and the intern freaked out that I was so calm. They are also almost always surprised when they see how young I am in addition to the fact that I also seem to have a working knowledge of my various conditions and their treatments. Anyways the moral of this story is that medical interns are oddly hilarious [and also avoid eye contact].
