Single & College Bound

Me and my nephew JT!

Well I left my boyfriend of over a year for reasons to numerous to bother with. Even though he was the one who held my hand through my diagnosis and flares I felt it better we go our separate ways. Unfortunantly this means that in future relationships I will have to learn how to drop the “RA Bomb”, I don’t know if this is something one does up front or later on but I will figure it out.

I am leaving for Oklahoma State in 2 weeks and am rushing a sorority, I plan on letting my RA bother me as little as possible (because my opinion matters XD). However a recent visit to the rheumatologist showed that my joints are actually improving! Instead of putting me on Enbrel my Dr. is going to raise my Methotrexate (MTX) from .7 cc (or approximately 17.2 mg) to .8 cc. For those of you who don’t know MTX is a chemotherapy drug used to treat autoimmune diseases as well as cancer. PROS: helps pain levels, reduces joint damage, only injected once a week. CONS: Chemo makes you feel like crap, it’s a shot, side effects, oh yeah oddly enough can CAUSE cancer (in some studies). But all-in-all I find it to be worth all the risks. I’d rather have quality of life over quantity of life any day. Anyways… So college classes start the 22nd and I’m going to attempt drawing I even though my hands are still a little crappy, oh well here goes nothing!

P.S. I got to meet my nephew a little over a week ago! He is so amazing and precious I love you JT :3
